M6.2 earthquake strike near Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan border
According to the USGS, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit Kyrgyzstan at 19:35 UTC with the epicenter 42 km (26 miles) SW of Farghona (Fergana), Uzbekistan. The agency reported a depth of 9.2 km.
GFZ reports a depth of 27 km, which is a lot less dangerous than the 10 km depth from USGS and EMSC. The valley with a lot of villages is at a height of 500 meters.
