The epicenter was located 66 km (41 miles) east-southeast of Goroka, New Guinea, PNG, 114 km (70 miles) south of Madang, New Guinea, PNG and 382 km (237 miles) north-northwest of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (6.244°S, 145.959°E). The depth of epicenter was at 105.9 km (65.8 miles).
