Strong earthquake with recorded magnitude 6.3 struck off the coast of Honshu, Japan on June 5, 2012 at 19:31 UTC according to Japan Meteorological Agency. Epicenter was located 153 km (95 miles) ESE of TOKYO, Japan (34.952°N, 141.178°E). USGS is reporting magnitude 5.8, EMSC 6.2. Recorded depth by JMA is 20 km (12.4 miles), USGS recorded 17.2 km (10.7 miles).
Although there may be slight sea-level changes in coastal regions, this earthquake has caused no damage to Japan.
