Strong M 6.7 earthquake struck east of South Sandwich Islands

Strong earthquake registered as M 6.7 (USGS) occurred east of South Sandwich Islands in southwestern Atlantic Ocean at 19:25 UTC on October 24, 2013. The epicenter was located at coordinates 58.208°S 12.950°W at depth of 26.1km (16.2miles). EMSC recorded depth of 60 km with same magnitude.

This is the remote area with no population around 100 km from the epicenter.
