Series of strong earthquakes off the coast of Tarapaca, Chile

Chile is currently enduring a swarm of strong earthquakes off the coast of Tarapaca. This phase started on March 15, 2014 with M 4.7 at depth of 9.6 km, followed by very strong M 6.7 on March 16 which was initially reported as M 7.0

Since then, and by 13:29 UTC today, USGS reported a total of 30 strong earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 4.1 to 6.7.

The latest earthquake with magnitude above 6 was M 6.2 at 12:59 UTC today. USGS measured depth of 15.2 km. EMSC is reporting M 6.3 for this earthquake and depth of only 5 km.

A swarm of shallow earthquakes that started two days ago near Nicobar Islands, India is still in progress. By 00:10 UTC today USGS reported 18 strong earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 4.2 - 6.5. See detailed report here.

Earthquake swarm around Puerto Rico is ongoing for couple of months now. Oklahoma and California are not falling back either.
