Jellyfish Flame on the International Space Station
Astronauts onboard the International Space Station report seeing flames that behave like jellyfish while conducting experiments on how fuel burns in microgravity. They’re looking at how quickly it burns, the conditions needed for soot to form – and how mixtures of fuels evaporate before burning.
The experiments could lead to the development of safer spacecraft, and increased fuel efficiency back on earth.
