Heavy rainfall on July 14 and 15, 2015 has caused several rivers to overflow simultaneously in the Aceh disctricts of western Indonesia.

According to Indonesia's disaster management agency (BNPB), no fatalities have been reported, although 25 765 people were affected by the flooding, over 2 000 people were displaced and over 7 900 houses were damaged in the regencies of Aceh Jaya and Aceh Barat. Some damage was done to local roads and bridges, as well.

BNPD has said that the river sedimentation and environmental degradation are responsible for making the area more susceptible to flooding.
