Large sinkhole almost swallows a family in Peru
A large sinkhole almost swallowed an entire car with a three-member family in the northwestern Trujilo city in Peru, on February 4, 2016.
The 5-m (16.4 feet) void opened up underneath the family car as they were driving along a road, media reported. The locals managed to pull all the family members, including a two-year-old child to the safety, in a dramatic rescue action, filmed by the eyewitnesses.

Edgar Orlando Bartolo Silva, the driver, said he managed to stop the car just before it started falling into the ground: "Some people helped us, but we were scared because water began to filter into the vehicle."
According to media reports, the heavy rainfall and floods that affected the region over the past week have caused the sewer pipe to burst which most likely lead to the sinkhole formation.
