Heavy hail storm damaged 1 000 houses in northern Vietnam
According to Thanhnien News, an 8-minute hail storm damaged around 1 000 houses and 100 hectares of vegetable fields in Vietnam's Tuyen Quang province on Sunday, April 3, 2016. Witnesses say many hailstones were 10 to 15 cm (3.9 to 5.9 inches) in diameter.
The storm hit the area around 06:40 local time (23:40 UTC on April 2), leaving holes in many roofs and injuring several farmers on their way to work.

Dinh Thi Nghia (50), a local, told Thanhnien News it was the biggest hailstorm she had ever experienced. "Luckily, it happened on a day kids don't go to school."
A meteorologist said it was the biggest hail recorded in the province in last 30 years.
