Severe flooding leaves 4 dead, 300 affected in Ecuador
Following heavy rainfalls, two rivers overflowed their banks in Ecuador's Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas province on April 26, 2016, causing severe flooding. At least 4 people have lost their lives while another 4 remain missing, Ecuador's Risk Management Secretariat reported.
The rivers Damas and Toachi flooded the area in the early morning (local time) affecting about 300 residents.
About 80 houses were destroyed, and at least 20 people were forced to leave their homes. The town of AlluriquÍn was hit the hardest.

Extreme weather caused severe traffic disruptions and triggered landslides across the affected region.
