Tornado hits Hainan leaving 1 dead and 11 injured, south China
At least one person was killed and 11 others injured after a tornado hit the county-level city of Wenchang, south China's Hainan province on Sunday, June 5, 2016, local authorities said today. Four of the injured suffered serious injuries.
According to the city's emergency office, the tornado struck the townships of Jinshan and Fengpo, cutting off the power supply, uprooting trees and ripping roofs off houses.

The tornado damaged 178 homes and affected 749 people from the two townships. The rescue work continues.
