Explaining the Mohave earthquake swarm, Arizona

Prompted by a swarm of earthquakes constantly shaking the grounds of Mohave County, Arizona, since late March 2016, Dr. Lee Alison, the Arizona State Geologists, Director of the Arizona Geological Survey, filmed a brief video clip to educate the residents and inform them of the best possible course of actions during the shakes.

A four-minute video shows the locations, explains the underlying causes of the undergoing earthquake swarm and instructs the people how to best prepare for ground shaking.

Over 60 earthquakes were recorded south of Littlefield in Mohave County since March 28. Such swarms haven't been reported in the area yet, according to Dr. Alison, most probably due to a lack of sufficiently sensitive instrumentation.

The strongest quake was M3.8 on Richter scale. It wasn't strong enough to cause damage, but the people have felt it. The most recent earthquake was recorded on May 10 and measured M2.0 on Richter scale.
